As the 2016 year began to close I became excited because there is something about 2017 that excites me. I’ve talked about my bucket list. I’ve talked about my hopes and my dreams. I’ve talked about my reading list. But, this all seems so different. There is hope. Actually, it isn’t that I’m hopeful for an amazing 2017, I am excited for a prosperous 2017.

I don’t know what is in store for my husband and I but I do know that no matter what we have each other, we have a God that will supply all our needs, we have our extended family that we love, we have an amazing church family that unbeknownst to them helped get me sane again. On paper, people will think we have so little, and yet, we have so much.

I am ready to start this new year. Maybe it is the magic of new beginnings that has my hands tingling in excitement and my feet tapping with the rhythm of the rising sun. Maybe it is the hope of soaring into my calling. Maybe it is because I learned so much last year that I can’t wait to see what I learn this year. Maybe because I know it is the beginning of whatever I want. Whatever it may be this is my year to sparkle.

My goals to sparkle? There is only one thing that I want to for sure do: write. I have these projects I’ve been working on that I’m excited is coming along. I have a vision that needs to get on paper. Mostly, I want to try new things. I’ll still do my three posts but hopefully mix it up. Or not. I’ve decided this year to be able to create I can’t force it. If I see something that inspires me to just go. I have put in place the real possibility for me to accomplish my writing goals and it makes me incredibly excited. All my other lists will fall into place once these projects have come to fruition. As the first day of the year starts, I am one step closer in doing so.

What are you excited for this year? What are your goals?

If you need a little perk up, something to strive for, or just something to work on, try these…

this-year

Those words I try to live by in general. But, if you don’t know what you want, where you want to go, if you’re just dredging in and kicking up mud focus on these things. The list above will help you find you. I know it did for me.

And so the adventure begins. I’m excited for the road trips that I will take (already have two – one today and one in February). I am excited for the programs I am participating in. I am excited in completing one, or two, or three projects. I am excited for new beginnings. I am excited for old friends. I am excited to set out a little further out of my comfort zone. I am excited to fall again and again. I am excited to watch the stars, holding hands with my husband, and to journey together through the adoption phase. I am excited because I see a starting line that doesn’t scare me and a path that doesn’t alarm me. I am excited to see my husband learn in his new position. I am excited for parties, and possibilities, and seeing God’s artistry across the horizon.

I hope this year brings you excitement too. The best is yet to come my friends.

Just remember, this year, there are 12 new chapters and 365 chances. Here is to page 1 of 365. xoxo
